Partner-Supplied Cermet Cutting Tools

Cermet Inserts

Explore partner-supplied cermet inserts available through MSU for turning, milling, bearing-related and saw-tip requirements. The current range includes uncoated and PVD-coated grade routes, dimensional tables and application fields for initial comparison.

Select a cermet cutting tool by its complete insert shape or code, grade, chipbreaker or edge form when listed, workpiece, operation and cutting conditions. MSU reviews the selected reference and order requirement with the relevant supply source before quotation.

Send the insert reference, application, quantity and delivery requirements for selection review or quotation.

Explore Cermet Inserts

Compare four cermet product routes available through MSU, then use the operation, complete reference, grade, geometry and dimensions to narrow the request.

Cermet products use a separate catalog route from Carbide Inserts and Ceramic Cutting Tools. Choose the material category from the requested product reference and application rather than from insert shape alone.

Turning Inserts

Cermet turning inserts are organized by complete insert designation, grade and dimensional fields. Confirm the shape, relief angle, tolerance, hole or chipbreaker form, size, thickness, nose radius and cutting direction where applicable.

Temporary visual for Cermet Milling Inserts

Milling Inserts

Cermet milling inserts are listed in a separate catalog section. Confirm the complete product code, insert geometry, grade, listed dimensions, cutter information and milling conditions.

Temporary visual for Cermet Bearing Inserts

Bearing Inserts

Cermet bearing inserts are reviewed by the complete family or model reference, profile, dimensions, grade and bearing-related application details.

Temporary visual for Cermet Saw Tips

Saw Tips

Cermet saw tips are reviewed by the complete model, profile, length, width, thickness and saw application. Blade fit and cutting conditions must be checked for the submitted requirement.

Compare the four routes by operation, complete reference, grade, geometry and application details.

Compare Cermet Product Types

Compare Product Types

Start with the operation, then verify the complete catalog row because the identification and selection fields differ across turning, milling, bearing and saw-tip products.

A familiar shape or partial code does not confirm grade, dimensions, holder or cutter fit, stock or machining results. Keep every parameter attached to the exact product and operating conditions in which it is listed.

Turning Inserts Cermet turning insert families Complete code, shape, relief angle, tolerance, hole or chipbreaker form, size, thickness, nose radius, cutting direction, grade, holder and workpiece
Milling Inserts Cermet milling insert families Complete code, insert geometry, grade, listed dimensions, cutter-body information, workpiece and milling conditions
Bearing Inserts Catalog-listed bearing insert families Complete family or model reference, profile, dimensions, grade and bearing application details

When replacing another product, provide the exact current code and dimensional drawing. Similar appearance does not establish interchangeability.

For a carbide insert, use Carbide Inserts. For a ceramic material route, use Ceramic Cutting Tools.

Send the complete insert, holder or cutter and application information for product-specific review.

Supply and Quality Control

Cermet Inserts are partner-supplied through MSU. Product identification, requested quality information and order requirements are reviewed for the selected reference before quotation.

The current catalog, complete product reference and confirmed order requirements provide the basis for product review.

State any required material declaration, dimensional report, identification record, packaging requirement or other quality document before quotation so its availability and scope can be checked for the order.

Supplier, incoming or outgoing verification and available evidence are confirmed for the specific product and order. Holder compatibility, machining performance and acceptance requirements depend on the submitted reference and application conditions. See Quality Control for inspection processes and quality-document requests.

Cermet Insert Selection Questions

Are cermet inserts manufactured by MSU?

No. MSU supplies Cermet Inserts through its partner network.

Does the range include both cermet turning inserts and milling inserts?

Yes. The current catalog contains separate turning and milling insert sections, plus bearing inserts and saw tips. Use the complete reference from the relevant section.

Can a cermet insert replace a carbide or ceramic insert with the same shape?

Not from shape alone. Verify the complete code, dimensions, grade, holder or cutter interface, workpiece and cutting conditions.

Which cermet grades are available?

The catalog presents uncoated and PVD-coated grade routes and lists individual grade codes. Current availability and the appropriate grade must be confirmed for the exact product and application.

Can I use catalog cutting data for a different insert or workpiece?

No. Keep each value attached to the exact product, material and operating conditions in which it is listed. A different code, workpiece, machine or setup requires separate review.

Can MSU confirm holder or cutter compatibility?

Submit the full insert and holder or cutter references. Compatibility is reviewed case by case and is not inferred from the family name or appearance.

Can I request quality documents with the order?

Yes. State the required document and acceptance basis before quotation so the available supplier and order evidence can be confirmed.
