MSU REA-H7 and REAC-H7 solid carbide reamers

Solid Carbide Reamers

Explore MSU solid carbide reamers in the current REA-H7 and REAC-H7 catalog configurations. Both routes include 4-flute and 6-flute carbide machine reamer entries covering nominal cutting diameters from 4.0 to 20.0 mm.

Selection begins with the required finished-hole size and tolerance, pre-hole condition, stock allowance, blind or through-hole geometry, flute count, coolant route, workpiece and machine setup. The catalog series name does not by itself guarantee an H7 finished hole.

Send the hole, allowance, process, quantity and delivery requirements for catalog-entry and application review.

Explore Solid Carbide Reamers

The current carbide reamer range follows two configurations. Compare coolant construction, flute count and the complete catalog dimensions before selecting a route.

REA-H7

Standard catalog configuration without the internal-coolant designation. The current nominal cutting-diameter range is 4.0–20.0 mm.

REAC-H7

Internal-coolant reamer configuration. The current nominal cutting-diameter range is 4.0–20.0 mm.

4 flutes

4.0–10.0 mm in both configurations.

6 flutes

10.5–20.0 mm in both configurations.

These are solid carbide machine reamers. Hand reamers, HSS reamers and indexable drills are separate product types. For drilling before reaming, compare Micro Drills, Solid Carbide Drills, Solid Carbide Deep Hole Drills or Replaceable Head Drills according to the operation.

Continue from the two configurations to compare diameter, flute, coolant and application requirements.

Compare Reamer Configurations

Compare Series and Configurations

Select a candidate configuration only after the finished-hole requirement and the pre-reaming process are defined.

MSU solid carbide reamer configurations, current identity, diameter and flute structure, and the inputs that still control selection.
Configuration Current identity Diameter and flute structure Inputs that still control selection
REA-H7 Standard configuration without the internal-coolant designation 4.0–10.0 mm in 4-flute entries; 10.5–20.0 mm in 6-flute entries Finished-hole size and tolerance, pre-hole, allowance, blind or through hole, workpiece, machine, holder and external coolant conditions
REAC-H7 Internal-coolant reamer configuration 4.0–10.0 mm in 4-flute entries; 10.5–20.0 mm in 6-flute entries Finished-hole size and tolerance, pre-hole, allowance, blind or through hole, workpiece, machine, holder and internal coolant conditions

Tool dimensions

The catalog provides item code, d1 cutting diameter, d2, L1, L2, a Dh6 shank field and total length L. Dh6 describes a tool-shank field; it is not a finished-hole tolerance.

Process conditions

Speed, feed and coolant choices require the selected entry, actual workpiece, pre-hole, stock allowance, holder, machine and acceptance requirement.

Use the comparison to prepare the finished-hole, pre-hole, stock-allowance and coolant inputs.

Choose Solid Carbide Reamers for Your Application

Provide one complete finished-hole and process requirement so MSU can review the applicable configuration and catalog entry.

  • Required finished-hole diameter, tolerance, surface requirement and inspection method.
  • Blind or through-hole geometry, hole depth, entry and exit conditions, interruptions, cross-holes and any step.
  • Pre-hole diameter, process, condition and intended stock allowance.
  • REA-H7 or REAC-H7 route when known, plus the selected item code or tool drawing.
  • Required flute count only when it is already specified; otherwise allow it to follow the selected catalog entry.
  • Workpiece material, grade, hardness and stock condition when known.
  • Machine, spindle interface, holder, overhang, runout and rigidity information.
  • Coolant delivery, pressure, flow and filtration, plus current speed, feed, result or issue.
  • Quantity, destination country and target date.

Define the hole result

Translate terms such as precision reamer into measurable hole and inspection requirements. The product name alone does not define the resulting diameter, tolerance, roundness, cylindricity or finish.

Custom requirement

For a non-catalog reamer, submit the part and tool drawings through Custom Cutting Tools for feasibility review. Diameter, length, flute, coolant, tolerance, material and coating requirements must be assessed together.

Send the complete finished-hole, pre-hole, allowance and setup requirements for review.

Confirm from one catalog entry

  • Configuration and complete item code
  • d1 cutting diameter and d2 dimension
  • L1, L2 and total length L
  • Dh6 shank field
  • 4-flute or 6-flute structure
  • Coolant configuration
  • Current availability and order terms

All dimensions must come from the same catalog entry. Product identity and tool dimensions do not establish live stock, a finished-hole tolerance, a workpiece recommendation or a machining result.

Manufacturing and Quality Control

Solid Carbide Reamers are within the MSU-manufactured Holemaking Tools range. The current catalog supports the REA-H7 and REAC-H7 identities, flute structure, nominal diameter range and dimensions in this range.

See MSU Factory for manufacturing facilities and Quality Control for inspection and measurement processes.

For an order, the selected item code or approved drawing, critical tool dimensions, inspection requirements and acceptance basis are confirmed through the quotation and order records. Tool dimensions and catalog tolerances do not establish the resulting hole size, H7 tolerance, roundness, cylindricity, runout, finish, tool life or productivity.

Solid Carbide Reamer Selection Questions

The range includes REA-H7 and the REAC-H7 internal-coolant configuration.

Both configurations contain nominal cutting-diameter entries from 4.0 to 20.0 mm.

The catalog uses 4-flute item codes from 4.0 to 10.0 mm and 6-flute item codes from 10.5 to 20.0 mm in both configurations.

No. It is a catalog series identifier. The finished-hole result depends on the selected entry, pre-hole, allowance, workpiece, machine, holder, coolant, cutting process and inspection method.

It is a shank-related dimension field in the catalog drawing and table, not a finished-hole tolerance claim.

No. Specify the exact reamer, workpiece and application conditions so speed, feed and coolant choices can be reviewed for your setup.

Completion of the whole order is guaranteed within 25–30 days from order placement.
