PCBN Finishing Inserts
Review the complete insert code, shape, dimensions, edge geometry, cutting direction, insert type and material or construction label for the finishing requirement.
Partner-Supplied CBN and PCBN Range
Explore partner-supplied CBN cutting tools available through MSU, including PCBN finishing and semi-finishing series, PCBN inserts and custom CBN or PCBN tool routes. These tools are reviewed by the exact material or construction label, tool form, operation, workpiece and standard or custom requirement.
PCBN cutting tools differ from PCD Tools. Workpiece hardness, material suitability, edge condition, cutting parameters, tool life and holder compatibility must be reviewed for the exact product and operating conditions rather than inferred from the CBN or PCBN name.
Send the CBN or PCBN route, tool form, operation, workpiece condition, code or drawing and quantity for review.
Request a CBN or PCBN Tool ReviewCompare four CBN and PCBN product routes by construction or material label, tool form, operation and workpiece conditions.
Use PCD & CBN Tools for the material-family overview, PCD Tools for the adjacent material route and Custom Cutting Tools for a drawing-led workflow. Ceramic Inserts and Carbide Inserts remain separate product groups.
Review the complete insert code, shape, dimensions, edge geometry, cutting direction, insert type and material or construction label for the finishing requirement.
Review the complete insert code, shape, dimensions, edge fields, material or construction label, operation and workpiece conditions.
Review the exact material label, tool form, operation, dimensions, holder interface and complete code for turning, milling, grooving, threading or another listed insert form.
Review the construction requirement, tool form, drawing revision, edge geometry, dimensions, interface and acceptance requirement for a custom tool.
Continue to compare finishing, semi-finishing, insert and custom CBN or PCBN routes by their configuration fields.
Compare CBN and PCBN Tool OptionsUse the exact material or construction label, tool form, operation and complete product reference or drawing to compare the available routes.
CBN and PCBN terms must remain attached to the exact product or approved drawing. Do not infer CBN content, substrate, solid or tipped construction, edge preparation or grade from a family name or image.
| Product route | Current range | First comparison fields | Selection boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| PCBN Finishing Inserts | Standard finishing insert series | Complete insert code, shape, dimensions, edge geometry, cutting direction, insert type and construction label | A finishing label does not guarantee a surface result |
| PCBN Semi-Finishing Inserts | Semi-finishing insert series | Complete code, shape, dimensions, edge fields, construction label and operation | Do not transfer an application label to an unreviewed workpiece or setup |
| CBN/PCBN Insert Forms | Turning, milling, grooving, threading and related insert forms | Material label, tool form, operation, dimensions, holder interface and complete code | Similar shape does not establish compatibility or equivalence |
| Custom CBN/PCBN Tools | Welded non-standard and drawing-based forms | Construction requirement, tool form, drawing revision, edge geometry, dimensions, interface and acceptance requirement | Feasibility and inspection scope are confirmed through review and quotation |
Use the comparison fields to define the construction, tool form, operation and exact code or drawing needed for review.
Review CBN and PCBN Selection InputsA complete CBN or PCBN request combines the exact construction or material label, tool form, operation, workpiece condition, holder and operating conditions.
Construction and application check
Do not choose a CBN or PCBN product from hardness or workpiece family alone. The complete setup and desired result must be reviewed together.
For a replacement, submit the full code, holder reference, clear images and dimensions. A similar insert shape does not confirm equivalence.
Send the complete construction, tool-form, workpiece and operating information for review.
Send CBN or PCBN Tool RequirementsUse the current catalog or approved drawing to confirm the exact material or construction label, complete code, edge fields, dimensions and application.
Confirm the complete insert code, dimensions, edge count, direction, edge design, chamfer, hone, insert type and construction label when shown.
Confirm the complete code, shape, dimensions, edge fields and material or construction label.
Confirm the complete code, CBN or PCBN label, dimensions, edge count, profile and interface fields for the selected milling, hole, grooving, threading or related form.
Confirm the dimensioned drawing or complete reference, construction requirement, geometry, dimensions, interface and application.
Open the current catalog and record the complete CBN or PCBN reference, construction and dimensional row.
View the CBN and PCBN CatalogCBN / PCBN Tools are partner-supplied through MSU. Product construction, drawings, requested quality information and order requirements are confirmed for the selected product before quotation.
The current partner catalog, complete selected reference or approved drawing and confirmed order requirements provide the basis for product review.
State required construction or material evidence, dimensional reports, edge inspection, workpiece-hardness records, drawing revision, identification records, packaging requirements or other quality documents before quotation.
Supplier, incoming or outgoing verification and available evidence are confirmed for the exact product and order. Hardness suitability, edge quality, holder compatibility, tool life and machining results depend on the submitted reference, drawing and application conditions. See Quality Control for inspection processes and quality-document requests.

For a custom tool, identify the drawing revision, construction requirement, critical dimensions, tolerances, interface and acceptance features.
MOQ is normally 5–10 pieces, with the final quantity confirmed by product and quotation. Samples are charged according to the product, and sample freight is paid by the customer.
Completion of the whole order is guaranteed within 25–30 days from order placement. T/T with deposit and balance is supported; percentages and milestones are stated in the quotation or order.
EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP can be discussed and are confirmed by order, destination and feasibility. Quotations remain valid for 30 days.
Report an issue within 30 days after receipt and include applicable photographs, order or batch identification, drawing revision, measurement report or video. Each issue is verified and handled case by case.
